Alexis Trice

Alexis is a born and raised New Yorker, and graduated from The School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Illustration. She has been painting with oils for many years, and animals have always been her subject of choice. She began her company WelcomeToTheDoghouse.net creating custom pet portraits after she discovered that her combined love for dogs (inspirational muses, Una and Thea) and art could be a rewarding career.

Featured in many online and print publications, Alexis finds inspiration and admiration in rouge and Victorian taxidermy, wunderkammer, preserved fetal animals, insects, wax anatomical studies, Walton Ford, pinstripes and polka-dots, conjoined twins, backpacking through foreign lands, daguerreotypes and most of all the love of her life her boston terrier, Una.
